This show is raising funds to give the Albany Food Share a permanent home in Albany Village. Albany Community Trust, the organization responsible for rebuilding the Albany General Store, is teaming up with the Hardwick Area Food Pantry and the Albany Food Share teams to build a new home for the food share that feeds over 200 people weekly in Albany and our neighboring communities.
We are thrilled to welcome Mirah and Footings to the farm for a unique and intimate concert experience. The Hillside Barn is rustic and without frills, home to pigeons, and tucked into the center of our working farm. Our dear friend Katt saved this original farm structure from collapse, and now we host parties, shows, and friends together to fill the barn with joy!
Brooklyn-based Mirah Yom Tov Zeitlyn (b. 1974, Philadelphia) creates incorruptible independent pop music defined by her graceful songwriting and adventuresome recordings. Mirah has released over a dozen solo and collaborative recordings on K Records, Kill Rock Stars and various US domestic and foreign independent labels while touring the United States, Europe, Japan, Australia and New Zealand many times since 1998.
Footings is an American rock band formed in Peterborough, New Hampshire, in 2012. Footings is a vehicle for the songs of Eric Gagne, often in performance with Elisabeth Fuchsia on viola; the band also featured members of Pile, Bunny's a Swine, Dweller on the Threshold, and Rick Rude. Blending elements of slowcore ala Songs: Ohia, experimental post-rock ala Godspeed You! Black Emperor and chamber folk ala Great Lake Swimmers, Footings offers up their own unique tapestry of darkness and hope.
The Barn at Hillside Farm
The Hillside Barn is nestled into the center of our working farm. The original barn of Hillside Farm, built in 1890, the barn nearly succumbed to time and disrepair before being restored by dear friend of the farm, Katt. Together with the whole Hillside crew, she now hosts some of the best shindigs of each summer. When attending one of our events, please pay close attention to signage to respect and protect the farm’s operations.
